-- Hotel database upgrades - MySQL, SQL Server, and Oracle (Matt Nuttall/Ben Hosch; 5 min) - The Hotel DBMS stack in is getting an upgrade - several, in fact. Many folks host their applications in this environment, and this quick info item will cover what’s happening and what to expect.
-- OIM attributes project + future (Matt Nuttall; 10-15 min) - The University’s Identity Management team in the last stage of rolling out Oracle Identity Manager and retiring x.500. The final effort involves converting 135 attributes (e.g. active student, campus) that are currently calculated in x.500’s COBOL code to the OIM platform. In this talk, we’ll give an overview of the effort, and we’ll discuss our vision for the future which involves a master data management strategy with implications for data integration.
-- Demo: Real-time integration with Google Calendar (Gerardo Orellana; 15 min) - Curious about how real-time data integration works in practice? According to the IDEAA survey, the answer is an emphatic “yes”. In this talk, you’ll hear more about the architecture behind APLUS’s integration with Google Calendar, which is based on a push-based pub/sub model, and how it was created. Example code will be included.
-- Financial Data Archival project (Dan Hemauer; 15 min) - Learn about the Financial Data Archival project in PeopleSoft and discuss potential impacts to tertiary systems.
