All,
Our next IDEAA (Integrating Data, Enterprise Architecture, and Applications) iCoP meeting will be held Tuesday, October 9th, from 9:30am to 11:00am, in 402 Walter Library.
Here is the agenda:
-- Kafka @ the U of M (Davin Lagerroos; 15 min) - Apache Kafka is an open-source, fault-tolerant streaming platform used to create and manage pub/sub data streams which power real-time data pipelines and their dependent applications. Some folks at the University are starting to make use of Kafka in production settings, and so Davin will join us to talk a bit about Kafka, how it's being used, and share thoughts on the future of Kafka at the University.
-- Dell Boomi update (Matt Nuttall/Tony Stice/Guy Gaskin; 25 min) - A quick project update followed by early lessons learned from our first integration (PeopleSoft to SalesForce) in OIT. Then, we’ll hear from the Carlson School of Management on their initial experiences using the Boomi platform.
-- Unizin Data Platform / Unizin Learning Lab (Chris Scruton, 15min) - You might have heard about the Unizin Consortium along with other matters related to the Canvas transition...but what is it? What is the Unizin Data Platform (UDP) / Learning Lab (ULL) and why should I care? If you’re interested in the future of Canvas data and what possibilities exist as part of the University’s membership in Unizin, you should attend this talk.
-- Data Governance: Common Dimensions update (Amy Schult; 5 min) - Brief update regarding current status of ethnicity & gender identity/sex as well as next steps.
