All,
Our next IDEAA (Integrating Data, Enterprise Architecture, and Applications) meeting will be held Tuesday, April 11th, 2023 from 9:30-11:00 am, online.
Here is the agenda:
-- EDMR Data Governance (Christian Sobek and Elysia Wallace, 10 min) - The Data Governance Council, in collaboration with EDMR, is evaluating the use of person types/groups across the University system to identify areas where new term definitions are needed and create alignment in the usage of these terms in data reporting and communications.
-- Enterprise Data & Analytics (Rob Howieson, 5 min) - Quick updates on the Tableau Server upgrade.
-- OIT Integration team (Tim Gagner, 10 min) - OIT Integration team will share information about recent API enhancements, how to request additions to the common API catalog, and the relevant approval workflow.
-- Machine Learning: Not Your Average Reporting Workflow (Bayram Tokayev, Nate Meath, and Alison Link, 30 min) - The ASR Student Data and Analytics team maintains a machine learning modeling workflow to help predict which students may not persist into the coming term and prioritize them for outreach during the semester. Structuring and managing data for machine learning projects like this one has some special considerations that are different from other, more general-purpose reporting projects. We'll dig into some of the nuances required for framing and managing this kind of project workflow. Understanding some of the differences between machine learning vs. general-purpose reporting can help us as a community make good choices around our shared toolsets to support both reporting and machine learning efforts.
