All,
Our next IDEAA (Integrating Data, Enterprise Architecture, and Applications) iCoP meeting will be held Tuesday, June 14th, 2022 from 9:30-11:00 am, online.
Here is the agenda:
-- Tableau Prep & Grouper + Tableau Licensing (Colin McFadden & Jim Nichols, 15-20 min) - Tableau provides powerful tools for organizing and connecting data, right within the application. However, sometimes it gets cumbersome to work with many complex joins and filters when building a dashboard. Fortunately, your Tableau license also includes a license for Tableau Prep - a powerful tool for doing data cleaning and organization. By combining Tableau Prep with Tableau, you can simplify your workflows, make dashboards more manageable, and make your data cleaning work shareable and repurposable. We’ll look at basic Tableau Prep use, as well as some more advanced possibilities.
Grouper is a powerful tool for doing access control across many of the platforms in use at the University. Within the Tableau ecosystem, it can be used for automated and manual access control, both at the site and dashboard level. It can also provide row-level security within individual dashboards. We’ll look at how CLA is using Grouper to simplify access management in Tableau, and how we’re planning to use it across our entire application ecosystem going forward.
After Colin’s presentation, Jim Nichols (EDMR) will discuss Tableau licensing.
-- DegreeCat (Jaime Wascalus & Santiago Fernandez-Gimenez, 10-15 min) - Following up on the DegreeCat Project presentation from last December, ASR will provide an update on the Stellic implementation and related integrations. They will also provide information on the integrations and data opportunities with the next phase of the DegreeCat Project, the implementation of Coursedog, the university's future curriculum and catalog management solution.
-- Cloud Center of Excellence (Doug Finley and Marianne Moodie - 10 min) - We'll talk about: Cloud Governance, Cloud Enablement, and Azure as our preferred vendor.
-- EDMR Data Governance (Amy Schult, 5 min) - Update on definitions recently approved and currently under review including Persons of Interest and Detailed Ethnicity.
-- OIT Integration team updates (Derek Widner & Phani Kandalam, 10-15 min) - Provide a brief update regarding our migration to the Boomi Managed Cloud. We will also highlight recent API enhancements for UCard data, including multi-row input and response profiles.
