All,
Our next IDEAA (Integrating Data, Enterprise Architecture, and Applications) iCoP meeting will be held Tuesday, August 13th, 2019, from 9:30am to 10:30am, in 402 Walter Library. We’re back in our usual spot.
Here is the agenda:
-- IDEAA meeting topic survey results (Colin DeLong; 15-20 min) - The results are in! Thanks to everyone for completing the IDEAA meeting topic survey...now we can talk about the findings, potential next steps, etc.
-- MyU integration (William Dana, Beth Cunningham, & Cynthia Murdoch; 15-20 min) - Come to this talk to get an update about MyU. In this talk, MyU staff will discuss how people use MyU, how content is targeted to different parts of the community, and how MyU might be able to help you and the communities you support.
-- Job automation/scheduling with Airflow (Eric Perrino; 10-15 min) - Many folks automate some subset of their batch jobs via crontab and the like, but a lot has happened in this space over the last 5 years. Enter Apache Airflow, a workflow automation tool based on directed acyclic graphs (or DAGs) that was originally developed by AirBnB and later open sourced. In this talk, Eric will discuss his efforts to modernize and simplify CLA-OAD’s increasingly complex ETL framework via Airflow, pros and cons of using Airflow, and other lessons learned thus far.
-- Common Dimensions - Person (Amy Schult; 5 min) - Amy will provide a brief update on common person data elements including recently approved terms.
