All,
Our next IDEAA (Integrating Data, Enterprise Architecture, and Applications) iCoP meeting will be held Tuesday, February 9th, 2021, from 9:30am to 10:30am, online.
Here is the agenda:
-- Next Generation BI/analytics: UM Analytics (Justin Dale, 15 min) - Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDA), in partnership with EDMR and other core OIT services, are in the early stages of evaluating the next generation of technology to power UM Analytics. As an organization we have “outgrown” our current BI technology, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), which has been in place since 2015. Oracle is focused on developing all new BI features and capabilities on their Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) and Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) platforms. Justin will discuss the approach we’re taking to perform a thorough evaluation of each platform and how that information feeds into making a recommendation on selecting the best platform to meet the University's needs..
-- OIT Integration Team updates (Tim Gagner, 15 min) - Will build on the message that has been shared in recent IDEAA meetings, the OIT Integration team is continuing on the path to deliver an initial set of APIs that can be broadly used to retrieve information about employees and students. Hear a status update about the progress and preparations to deliver them for your use. Also, with real-time enrollment data now being maintained in the CDL, we will share a few details about how this prepares Grouper to have the ability to use enrollment data to provide access capabilities to a given application in more automated and streamline structure.
-- Cloud services team (Doug Finley & Kyle Weeks, 15 min) - Doug Finley, product manager and OIT service owner of Cloud Hosting Services (CHS) along with Kyle Weeks of CHS, will share where OIT is at in our operational journey to enable the availability of cloud services for the University of MN. Doug and Kyle will share some use cases they have been dealing with through early adopters, and touching on current capabilities. They hope to share the work CHS has gone through supporting enterprise agreements, security, automation, and finance governance as a service.
