Once a Gang Location has been established Log Grades (WoodTypes) are required to be allocated to create the Stock Items against the location.
Log Grades can be added in several ways,
Manually added one at a time
Copied from a previous location
Added by the addition of Weekly Uplift Requests (WUR) or Production Estimates
From addition by Loader PDT app (WSX Mobile)
To manually add Log Grades to a Gang Location,
Click on an existing Log Grade in the required location or if the location currently has no log grades assigned you will need to first select it by clicking on the 'Select Loc' button and selecting from the 'Select Gang Location' screen.
Note: Gang Locations that have no Log Grades assigned will not display in the Stock Calls screen. Once you have selected a new location it displays in the Stock Calls screen as basically blank, i.e. no stock line items display and the likes of the Gang Location Comment, Location Comment, Name, Coordinates, etc., are all blank. As soon as you add a log grade data will populate in these fields where present.
2. Select the Insert Key on the keyboard or right click on the stock area and select 'Insert Stock'. From the 'Select a WoodType Record' screen that presents, highlight the required Log Grade (you can locate the log grade by typing in the screen) and select the Enter key or click the 'Select' button to add.
Once selected the Log Grade will then display in the Stock Calls screen associated to the selected Gang Location. This item can then be edited to add the likes of Stock Quantity, Fell Date, and Comments - see Taking a Stock Call guide (write and link).

This function allows you to copy Log Grades that exist at most recent previous location, to the most current location, i.e. copy from the second most recent location to the newest location (Note: Locations display and are ordered by their associated 'Order Date').
To copy Log Grades from the previous location
Click on an existing Log Grade in the required location or if the location currently has no log grades assigned you will need to first select it by clicking on the 'Select Loc' button and selecting from the 'Select Gang Location' screen.
Note: Gang Locations that have no Log Grades assigned will not display in the Stock Calls screen. Once you have selected a new location it display in the Stock Calls screen as basically 'blank', i.e. no stock line items display and the likes of the Gang Location Comment, Location Comment, Name, Coordinates, etc., are all blank. As soon as you add a log grade data will populate in these fields where present.
2. Click on the 'Copy Last' button. This will copy from the last most current location all Log Grades that are currently active at that location. This copy will add the Log Grades to the new location, but does not copy any of the Stocky Quantity, Fell Date or Comment data.
Note: Active does not mean has a Stock Quantity greater than zero, simply that it exists against the location.
Example: In the image below a Copy Last was used to copy all Log Grades from the location MFT/MAHN/1601/01/03 to the new location MFT/MAHN/1401R/01/04.
The ability to automatically add Stock Items to Gang Locations on the addition of Weekly Uplift Request or Production Estimate data also exists.
This function is controlled by the DB Setting AutoAddStockLine_LogOrg, whereby if WUR or Production Estimate data is added for a Gang Location where the Log Grade does not already exist as a Stock Item and the setting is,
Activated - Adds a stock item to the Gang Location (with zero stock quantity values)
Not Activated - Only adds a stock item if this option is manually selected when adding or editing the WUR or Production Estimate item
Where a Gang has a PDT running WSX Mobile they can utilise this both for stock calls and also to add new Log Grades to a location. See the Crew PDT section for information how this is undertaken on the PDT.
