'Tiffin in the Garden' Summer Concert 2021

Tiffin School Summer Concert ‘Tiffin in the Garden’, 5:30-8:00pm Friday 9th July 2021

Year 7 pupils who are not already members of a band or orchestra and who wish to take part are invited to sign up here

You are invited to Tiffin School’s summer concert ‘Tiffin in the Garden’ taking place between 5:30 and 8:00pm on Friday 9th July 2021 in the Head’s Garden. As this event takes place outside, we are able to put in place measures to ensure a safe environment in line with current regulations.

In addition to the pupils who will perform, we invite up to two audience members from each household to attend. Audience members should socially distance please: sitting in or standing near the distanced seats provided and remaining at least 1m from other households. With this in mind, audience members are not expected to attend the event in its entirety: they are welcome to come and go as they prefer. Sadly, this year it will not be possible to serve food but, as always, picnics are welcome. Parking is available at the Cattle Market Car Park KT1 2QY.

All members of the school Orchestra, String Orchestra, Swing Band and Wind Band will perform at this event. In addition, up to sixty pupils from Year 7, accompanied by the school orchestra, will perform songs from the musicals ‘Oliver’ and ‘Wicked’ which they have learned in class. As space is limited, Year 7 pupils who are not already members of a band or orchestra have been invited by email to sign up for a place. The form will close once all places have been filled.

Pupils are asked to arrive no less than 30 minutes before they are due to perform, wearing school uniform if possible. When they are not performing, pupils are encouraged to support their peers by sitting with their family as audience members. As the school does not employ a stage crew, following the final performance, performers are expected to assist in returning chairs and equipment to the main hall and music department.
