Year 7 Exam Preparation
Like the exams taken by GCSE and A level music students, the Year 7 end of year music exam is a listening exam, during which you will be required to answer questions about musical extracts played to you by your teacher.
To make this possible, the exam will take place not during lower school exam week, but in your first music lesson following the half term holiday.
The revision notes found on this page describe the content of the exam, and how you might prepare.
You are encouraged to use these and/or any of the other materials provided on the Tiffin Music website to prepare for the exam.
Like GCSE and A level music grades, your end of year grade will be calculated using an average of the performing (30%) and listening exam (70%) marks which you have achieved over the course of the year.
