Beauty And The Beast Concert Performance 2024

7pm Monday 15th & Tuesday 16th January, Main Hall

Auditions 3:30-5pm Wednesday 13th & 20th September, Walden Hall

Rehearsals 3:30-4:30pm Mondays (Main Hall) & Wednesdays (Walden Hall)

Final Rehearsals 11am-3pm Sun 14th Jan, 3:30-5pm 15th & 16th Jan, Main Hall

Performance & Rehearsal Details

• You are invited to audition for a role in the Beauty And The Beast Concert Performance (semi-staged) taking place at 7pm on Monday 15th & Tuesday 16th January 2024 in the Main Hall. 

• To better understand the content of the performance you may wish to read the Beauty & The Beast Concert Edition Script below or watch video of other semi-staged musical theatre performances (such as the  'Les Miserables 25th Anniversary Concert').

• You are invited to audition for one of nine solo roles: Belle, Beast, Gaston, Lumiere, Lead 1/Mr(s) Potts, Lead 2/D'Arque, Maurice, Cogsworth and Lefou. You may also audition as a chorus member.

• In case of absence or illness, the show will be double cast (requiring 18 solo roles in total). Assuming no absence or illness, each cast member will give one performance as a soloist, and one as a chorus member.

• Following auditions, rehearsals will take place at 3:30-4:30pm on Mondays and Wednesdays during term time.

Audition Details

• As an auditionee, you should prepare to perform one of the following songs. You should choose a song which prominently features your first choice character. (Note that, if your first choice role is filled, you will be considered automatically for other roles - you are not required to reaudition).

• Follow the text and directions found in the Beauty & The Beast Concert Edition Script below. (Note that these have been adapted, so may differ from the original script and cast recording).

• Use the rehearsal tracks, cast recordings and vocal scores below to help you. (Remember always to follow the text and directions found in the Beauty & The Beast Concert Edition Script if different from the audio or vocal score).

• Drop in to the Walden Hall between 3:30 and 5pm on Wednesday 13th or 20th September to audition. You will perform your chosen song accompanied by one of the rehearsal tracks below. Lines performed by other characters will be spoken or sung by a member of staff if required.

• Please wait for your audition in the Walden Hall, listening respectfully to other auditionees. Please wait until each performance ends before entering/exiting the hall.
