Battle of the Bands welcomes…

*All pupils Y7-13

*All musical styles, including covers and original compositions

*All sizes of ‘band’, including solo vocals/rap

*Backing tracks (submitted here in advance)

*Clean lyrics

*Well-prepared bands bringing their own instruments

*PA, mics, amps, drum kit, piano etc. will be provided: read the kit list carefully

You are invited to the Battle of the Bands Final which will take place at 6pm on Tuesday 27th June in the Main Hall at Tiffin School. Audience members are welcome (within the restrictions detailed below), seating is unreserved, and no ticket is required to enter. The performance will end at approximately 7:30pm.

Pupils from all year groups are invited to participate in this event, in which all styles of music are welcome, including covers and original compositions. There is no limit to the number of members in each band: from 6-piece rock bands to solo vocals/rap with backing track, all are welcome. Pupils may perform in one or more bands, with each band performing one song. Lyrics must be clean and backing tracks must be submitted in advance. The same equipment will be provided by the music department for each band. Any additional instruments or equipment must be provided by the performers themselves.

On the day of the event there will be preliminary rounds for Year 9 music classes (10:40am-12:20pm) and all other Y7-13 pupils (3:30-5:30pm). The length of each round will be limited, and pupils will perform in order of entry: shortage of time may prevent later entries from performing. For these reasons pupils should complete the entry form early to avoid disappointment.

Kit List

The music department will provide: PA speakers with cables, 3 vocal mics and cables, 3 guitar amps, bass amp, drum kit, piano, portable keyboard, 2 acoustic guitars, 2 cajons and chromebook with cable (for playing submitted backing tracks)

Performers must provide all other equipment, which might include: electric guitars, electric guitar cables, bass guitars, bass guitar cables, drum sticks, synthesisers, DJ equipment and cables, loop stations, any additional wind, brass or string instruments, any additional audio equipment.
