A level Final Recital 2024

A level Music Final Recital, 6pm Wednesday 27th March, Walden Hall

You are invited to the A level Music Final Recital taking place at 6pm Wednesday 27th March in the Walden Hall, in the Music Department at Tiffin School. All are welcome to attend, admission is free of charge, seating is unreserved and no ticket is required to enter. In this recital, the school’s Year 13 A level musicians will present final performances of programmes which they have prepared over the course of the year, some of which may be submitted as coursework.

For security reasons, access to the school site and buildings is restricted at this time of day. Audience members are invited to enter via the main gate on London Road. From here, they should walk straight ahead into ‘the Head’s Garden’: a quadrangle of buildings surrounding a circular plant bed, lawn and picnic areas. In the Head’s Garden, with their back to the London Road, audience members will find the Chester Centre to their right. Using the nearest (rear) door to the Chester Centre, audience members enter and turn immediately left. Here they will find the Walden Hall.

The recital will be performed in two parts:

6-7pm approx. Part 1: Recitalists with surnames A-L followed by brief interval.

7-8pm approx. Part 2: Recitalists with surnames M-Z.

Audience members are invited to attend both parts of the recital but, due to the significant combined lengths of the performances, may wish to attend only part. Audience members are asked to enter and leave the recital room only between (not during) pupils’ recitals. Those waiting to enter the recital room may do so in Room 88. It should be noted that, by this time, A level music students have completed multiple recordings of their final programme (as many as they wish) and so their performance in this recital will not affect their final mark. A level Music Final Recital Timetable for Performers

Wednesday 27th March

3:30-5:30pm Final rehearsal

*Optional final rehearsal for performers.

*Pupils wait in Room 88 and are called to rehearse in the Walden Hall in order of arrival.

6pm Recital Part 1

*Pupils performing in Part 1 of the recital are required to take their seats in the Walden Hall. Note that, of course, other pupils are also welcome.

*Two items before their performance pupils leave the recital room to warm up in Room 88/89.

*One item before their performance pupils wait by the recital room door ready to perform.

*Pupils perform in alphabetical order by surname.

7pm approx. Part 2

*Pupils performing in Part 2 of the recital are required to take their seats in the Walden Hall. Note that, of course, other pupils are also welcome.

*Two items before their performance pupils leave the recital room to warm up in Room 88/89.

*One item before their performance pupils wait by the recital room door ready to perform.

*Pupils perform in alphabetical order by surname.
