Spring Ensembles Concert

You are invited the Tiffin School Spring Ensembles Concert at 7pm on Tuesday 21st March 2023 in the Main Hall at Tiffin School. Admission is free of charge, seating is unreserved and no ticket is required to enter. The concert will end at approximately 8:30pm.  

It is anticipated that the following school ensembles will perform in this concert: 

Chamber Orchestra, Concert Band, Guitar Ensemble, Jazz Combo, School Orchestra, String Chamber Ensemble, String Orchestra, Wind Band. 

On the day of the concert, between 3:30 and 5:30pm, there will be a brief final rehearsal for each instrumental ensemble. When not rehearsing, ensemble members may wait in the Main Hall (where they may eat cold food and complete homework) or, with parents’ permission, they may leave the site. It is preferred that performers wear school uniform during the concert, bringing this with them to school if necessary. Copied below is the timetable which performers will follow on the day of the concert.

Event Timetable 

3:30pm Final rehearsals in Main Hall. 

- Pupils place belongings in green rooms: 

Room 19 Concert Band, Wind Band, Jazz Combo 

Room 18 School Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, String Chamber Ensemble 

Room 17 String Orchestra 

Room 16 Others 

- When not rehearsing, pupils may remain in the Main Hall where they may complete homework and where they may eat cold food. With parents’ permission, pupils may leave the school site. 

3:30pm School Orchestra final rehearsal, Main Hall 

3:45pm Chamber Orchestra final rehearsal, Main Hall 

4:00pm Concert Band and Wind Band final rehearsal, Main Hall 

4:30pm String Orchestra final rehearsal, Main Hall 

4:45pm Jazz Combo final rehearsal, Main Hall 

5:00pm String Chamber Ensemble final rehearsal, Main Hall 

6:30pm Guitar Ensemble final rehearsal, Main Hall 

6:45pm Pupils place belongings in green rooms and take balcony seats in Main Hall 

7:00pm Concert begins 

- When not performing, pupils sit in Main Hall gallery (balcony) seats. 

- Two items before performing, pupils leave the hall, collect their instrument and sheet music from the appropriate green room and assemble silently in the corridor. 

8:30pm approx. Concert ends. All performers help to return musical equipment to the music department.
