Is your performance accurate? Every pitch and note length should be correct. Also consider accuracy of tempo (maintaining a steady tempo) and intonation (tuning).Does your performance demonstrate technical control? Do you play the notes with equal weight and length to produce an even, legato melodic line? Does each note sound clearly? Do you use the sustain pedal effectively?Is your performance expressive? Only when you can play your piece accurately with total confidence can you make your performance truly expressive. Do you subtly shape the phrases with dynamics? Do you play the dynamics written on the page?
