Artist Statement

The main idea that guided this artwork was playing with negative and positive space. I have already done a drawing of my cat so I did my idea for this one was to draw my dog.

This work was made by using the scratching tool on scratch board paper.

The process for making this started with lighting scratching away what I saw. Unlike drawing, I did the darker parts first and then went over and scratched harder for the lighter parts. I started with the feet to get the hang of it and then made my way up my dogs body.
