Linear Perspective Drawing 9x12

Interior Space Perspective Drawing 9x12

To create this project I created my linear perspective shape drawing. I used a pencil and a ruler to draw the shapes and a vanishing point on the horizon line to create the illusion of depth. Next, I created my interior space perspective drawing. In this drawing I drew furniture using the vanishing point. I used orthogonals to make the ceiling beams and the tiles on the floor. Lastly, I created the observational drawing from the picture of the hallway outside of the art room. I found the vanishing point on the picture using the orthogonals from the floor and ceiling. I also added color to the piece with watercolors.

In my linear perspective drawings I used line to create the floor and ceiling and to create the perspective in relation to the vanishing point. I used color to create a patter in my interior space drawing and to create balance within the piece. In my observational drawing, I used color to create emphasis and balance between the floor and the ceiling. I also created unity with the colors I used in the warm and blue color pallets. In my linear perspective drawing, I used shape to create the objects in linear perspective.

I am proudest of my interior space perspective drawing because of my use of color and shading. I am especially proud of my wall shelf's design. In my observational drawing I struggled with dimensions. I made the back wall more rectangular than it is in the picture which affected the final product and layout. I also struggled with the spacing of the ceiling tiles. I used the same strategy that I used to draw the tiles in my interior space drawing and they ended up evenly spaced in linear perspective.
