Eggcelent Disaster 9x12
Eggcelent Disaster recreation 9x12
To create the collage we were asked to create a piece that used different elements/pictures to create a whole. I used scissors, glue, and paper to create my collage. I started out with the man and then tried to create a scene for him to gaze upon. Then, we recreated our collage with paint while trying to accurately match the colors to the original. I used acrylic paint to create the reproduction.
Within the piece, I used color to create contrast between the cooler colors and the fire. I also used space and shapes to create balance in the piece. I tried to create balance between the right and left side of the collage. I also used color to create emphasis when using the paints to emphasize the objects against the background.
The story that is evident in my work is that a man is watching a bird who is watching its eggs burn. I am proudest of my recreation of the yellow of the flames since it took a while to make it match the original. I struggled the most with recreating the colors with the paint. In some areas, I didn't completely match them, but in others, the colors match the original.
