A Leap In Growth
Paper, India Ink, Watercolor
9x9
The main idea that guided my work was the idea of turning an ink splatter into a piece of art. After creating the main part based on the splatter, I continues with the concept of ink splatters and added maroon splatters throughout the piece.
I made the art using paper, India ink, and watercolor. The India ink was used for the vines and the frog. I used the watercolors for the flower and the maroon ink splatters.
For this piece, the processes I used were research and experimenting. I researched how a frog looks when jumping from above and below to see which view matched the ink splatter better. I also experimented with how to splatter the watercolor. I tried splattering with a brush versus using a dropper and popping the bubble of ink that would come out with just enough air and ink.
