The main idea that guided my work was creating a cropped self-portrait, a drawing of my hand, and an object I depend on.

The materials I used to create these pieces were paper and 2H pencils. I also darkened the iris of the eye and the palm of the hand with a 4H pencil.

The process I used when creating this piece was revision. I practiced drawing and then revised the eye many times to create the right shape and shading. I also revised the positioning of the fingers on the hand.
