In the picture on the right, you see shoe laces zoomed in 3 times. They get bigger each time. This was getting us ready for the 2nd image where we choose one to create an abstract painting/drawing. The day that I started that drawing it was a beautiful fall day so I decided to make the zoomed shoelaces into a beautiful farm on a fall day. The laces turned into roads and I added fences, trees, a barn, and other things you might find on a fall farm. My family has a lot of lands and while we don’t have any barn animals we do have a beautiful property in the fall time.

I started off with an H pencil because I wanted something light to start off with. Next, I moved onto a sharpie to get nice and crisp lines. After I went in with watercolors to create the trees, I did what I would call a second coat of watercolors to get the colors as vibrant as possible, and then I moved on. I moved onto colored pencils where I colored the barn and other farm details. I liked that I was able to use many different media when creating this piece of artwork! It was super fun!

I think if I were to do this project again I would take perspective into account more. When we did this project we were in our pure contour unit but now we are in our perspective unit and I have learned a lot more about how to make things way more realistic just by changing the perspective. Although, my project definitely did evolve when I was making it because I started out with the base of shoelaces. Now it looks like a whole fall scene. It was cool to experiment with the first and second coats of things. Often times if we are working with acrylic paint or painting a house you give it a second coat to fully cover it, But in this Painting, I did a second coat of watercolors to make the colors more vibrant and pop off the page.
