Artist statement:

For this project, we were learning how to make logos. The bus logo is called a smart logo because you are supposed to use your creativity to make a play on words. I decided to use the front of a metro bus to create the U. I wanted to keep the B and S the same because I thought it would be too confusing and would take away from the actual image of the bus. For the Earth club logo, I wanted to make it look like the Letters were drooping continents. With global warming, everything seems to be melting. I wanted to incorporate that in my logo.

Materials were pretty basic for this project. I used a sharpie to carve out the sharp black lines that define the edges. I did this project in my sketchbook. The sharpie worked really well to make sure that there were no smudges. The only problem was that it bled through my sketchbook.

If I were to do this project again I would probably want to try some different kind of bus to incorporate into my logo. Maybe I could try a school bus or just take a metro bus and incorporate the word into a side profile of the image. For the earth club logo maybe I could try to take the letters and individually make them look like they are earth by adding continents and oceans.
