Whiplash bases it's palette around yellow to red, adjusting between the two to reflect Andrew's mood during the scene. This film becomes more saturated as Andrew's obsession deepens. The yellow/ gold tunes amplify the brass and jazz quality of the film. Additionally, Andrew's life begins in a white palette with clothing before reaching blacks by the end of the film as he has fallen to obsession.

La La Land follows a similar pattern as the clothing palette shifts as the characters develop and become intertwined. Both Mia and Sebastian begin the film wearing clashing primary colours before they blend together into secondary greens and purples by the epilogue. This film is very reliant on clothing in terms of the palette and draws from influences such as Tarantino's Pulp Fiction for comic book like set design to accomodate.

Babylon is slightly more experimental than the previous two in switching between a muted and eccentric palettes to present the highs and lows of film making at the time. It also uses a variation of montages involving black and white elements, allowing the film to fit the time period. 

Overall, my colour palette will heavily involve the costume design and black and white to develop my themes.
