The role of Production Coordinator fascinates me. Creating production documents and arranging a schedule for my progression are elements I favour in college assignments. My Film and TV course is more focused on the practical crafts so these essentials are left to be independent work outside lessons. This is the aspect of the industry I am most aligned with as I work hard to support others in a team to make their vision successful. I constantly find myself being the one my friends come to for mental support and to organise events. Through this apprenticeship, I’d expand on these skills in a world class environment, understanding the process in more depth by learning from experienced professionals.

For the last year, I have studied Film and TV at college rather than continuing in a grammar school like most of my peers. This was an unorthodox move but I needed to stand up for myself for a change and pursue the industry of my choice. Studies in the classroom at college have allowed for debates, auteur analysis, project research and delivery. In my free time, I am able to prove my value as a creator, finding stories worth telling in my personal experiences and interests. Over time, this has given me the opportunity to expand my work beyond a portfolio website to YouTube and Spotify Podcasters, broadening my breadth of media capabilities. 

When I was ten, I was diagnosed with tracking issues. I may struggle with patterns and blocks of text due to visual stress but I don’t let this stop me from reaching my goal. I am determined to push past this, with assistance from colour filtered lenses, and let my organization skills grow alongside teamwork and resilience. I believe the BBC has an excellent ethos and would be the right place to continue learning, setting me up for a stable workplace with genuine passionate people.
