In the final week of our Unit 12 assignment, I needed to compile all my work and tidy up my website for presentation. After spending Monday, completing general admin for Unit 12, YouTube and Shrek footage, I worked hard on Tuesday to get my Unit 12 completed with an evaluation and refining my case studies on La La Land and Babylon. I had all my research notes but hadn’t formalised them. Was able to get the assignment in with much time to spare. I was slightly concerned when I realised the deadline was Tuesday midnight not Wednesday midnight although I got it in before then anyways. In future, I need to take more care reading the assignment details. We all presented our Unit 12s and were able to look at what we needed to work on for FMP.
As FMP hasn’t officially opened this week, for me, priorities have been on Shrek and YouTube as well as edits for the performing arts students. With the L2 class finished we just need to get through the Level 3 footage which is a mammoth task as we filming multiple times and with four cameras. Between me Korben and Jacob, we’ve done most of the work on the Marlow Studios socials edits. Jacob and I had a good system of rough edit then swap promos to refine before sending to Korben to add graphics. This was efficient and highlights our strengths as a team. This week has essentially been a buffer. My current plan for FMP is to create a short film off the back of Damien Chazelle from this unit but leaning into the one take techniques to create a night shoot about Insomnia. I have a back up to do a documentary on my time as a scout in Korea last year. I must focus on my proposal.
On Friday, in between my basic research and editing, Attila came round to check on our Unit 12 hand ins. He seemed very happy with mine but the only thing I didn’t do was translating my sources into Harvard formatting. For my FMP, I must make a record as I’m going along as to not make that job to difficult to end.
