As we were going to be on a tight schedule on the live show day, we pre recorded the host segment and I merged it with the two title sequences. For the ACL sequence, I used the college colours and theming to blend in and jumpy retro movements for the title, inspired by SNL. Then, for the Judge, I broke down the logo and created a sequence of it forming. Korben composed the music and timed it well with my sequences as accompaniment. I completed the editing for the host segment but wasn't involved in filming. I tried to add fun messages on the lower thirds to set the tone for the show. The bars and tones were implemented to mimic a technical fault and maintain a light hearted budget show atmosphere.
After storyboarding this advert for the lads, they carried out the filming on a phone camera which is fairly high quality footage but did provide me with some lighting issues editing. I gave the footage a green tint, as each advert would reflect a colour from the Ooogle logo, but I definitely need to work on colour grading in the future. Due to it being a life insurance advert, I generally went for a darker tone, with simple text at the end and a lower thirds to fit the conventions.
This was another advert that I storyboarded and edited. I believe it was also filmed on phone and the plot is very similar to the life insurance so I tried to give it a different energy with the music and sound effects. Once again, my colour grading works with the purple tint but still has issues as the images are lost. However, the red bad is able to pop, making it a key centre of attention throughout. The consistency of michael in the adverts is purposeful and the jump cuts closer to the end speed up a dragged out part of the advert, covering the real brand.
With this advert, that I saw all the way through, I wanted to mimic a child like and retro advert but with sinister undertones to setup a connection between the adverts. The font type is purposefully a bad choice to sell this being an overall company, aiming the ad at younger audiences. I filmed the advert, deciding to continue using a phone for ease and due to a tight timeline of filming. The greyscale separates this from the other tinted adverts as if to warn the audience that something is changing.
Along with the Stationary advert, with one was filmed by me, incorporating footage from some of the other adverts to tell a secondary story to the main live show, still featuring Michael as a lead to draw parellels. The trailer begins with a pink tint to reflect Tilly carrying over from the Bestco advert and it's a colour outside the Ooogle logo. However, it switches into a horror atmosphere so the palette becomes darker. In the background at a point, someone is intentionally watching the intro to the whole show to maintain a strange connection.
This animation was made by me using adobe illustrator and premiere pro as I have no experience with adobe animation. The movement isn't particularly smooth and I created an excess of movement as I didn't know how long we wanted to play it for in the live show on the screen. In editing the entire show, this became around 10 seconds and cuts to the chase quickly. At the end of the day, animation is something I have interest in but it's not part of this course and my skills are limited. Maybe in a future project I will approach an animation student to help me out.
Finally is the outro, very similar to the ACL intro and thus uses alot of the same elements to round of the production. This section is fairly brief and just like the first time the footage is slightly blurry. Now, this segment includes the credits, featuring Korben's theme underneath, and I added the credits based on the list of jobs people had said they were carrying out. A couple were changed later on, such as script, as they were not completed by those people.
