Our second assignment was to make a Music Video which was a step up from the Intro to Me project as now I'd established a basis for where my technical and creative skills currently are I now had to put those into practice with a proper context and more support from studying the course. For this assignment, I needed to test my ability to run a full production on a tight timeline with a plan including many other people. My focus was being able to use the camera well on my own as this was not necessary for the first assignment. I also wanted to improve my editing skills as I had learned about different filters and techniques on premiere which suit a music video style.
Producing a music video was an interesting premise as the industry is the largest part of media. Music Videos have been the most expensive projects in the world per second as many take on a movie level budget for a three minute clip. It is also a good starting point as this feels like a short film in terms of planning and production but that would be too ambitious at this stage. Music videos are very accessible to make and creating one with no budget was an intriguing task.
