What can you do?

There are several ways to help the PSA depending on how time and cash rich you are. There is a schedule of PSA events that depends entirely on our lovely volunteers – please get involved and help fundraise for the benefit of the school and the children.

In 2015-16, money raised by the PSA was used to buy books, audio books, licenses for both Number Shark and Word Shark, multicultural mats and materials for the Summer play, amongst other things. All money raised by the PSA is invested back in the school to benefit the children so please do what you can.

There are over 3,000 shops and sites on board ready to make a donation, including Amazon, John Lewis, Aviva, thetrainline and Sainsbury's – it doesn't cost you a penny extra. Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first to find the site you want and start shopping. There is an app which can be downloaded to your tablet or mobile to make this easier. After you’ve checked out, that retailer will make a donation to your good cause for no extra cost whatsoever. There are no catches or hidden charges.

In the last 3 years we have raised over £1462.66 for the school with Easyfundraising! Amazing effort!

Christmas and Summer Fair

For the big events such as the Christmas and Summer fair we need lots of practical help so please support your class rep and offer to help on your class stand. Donations will be requested in the weeks before the event and we are grateful for any gifts for the hampers and stands i.e. chocolate or bottles for the tombola.

Other Events

Would you like to organise your own fundraising event? Smaller groups tend to work more efficiently organising events such as cinema viewings and pub quizzes. We will support you in any way we can – just let us know your plans at the next PSA meeting or via email: stpaulspsa@gmail.com

Class Reps and PSA Committee

Volunteer to be a class rep and become a vital link in the chain between the parents and the PSA committee. It’s an essential role and many of the events would simply not happen without the commitment and organisational skills of the class reps. Alternatively, come and join the committee and help us get these events in motion. We need good ideas and helpers to help make as much money as we can for the school.

Support the Events

And, of course, we need parents and school supporters to turn up to the fundraising events. All the money raised will be reinvested back in the school so don’t forget to bring lots of spare change.

Match Funding

Match funding is when a company pledges a sum of money relating to the amount their employee has raised for a charity of their choice. So, in short, if you help out at the Christmas stall your employer could donate extra money to the school. Could you find out if your employer runs this scheme? It might be as simple as filling in a request form or asking the company to put their pledge in writing to the PSA. They may be willing to go a bit further and support the school in other ways by providing raffle / auction prizes.

Donate a Raffle Prize

St Paul’s PSA is always looking for raffle prizes so if you want to promote your business or employer’s generosity to local families then please let us know what you could donate. Contact us at stpaulspsa@gmail.com

Bag2School

Get rid of your unwanted but good quality clothing, shoes and bags by donating it to Bag2School. The school will earn money for every kilo of donated items so make sure you pack the heavier items! For shoes please tie shoelaces together or use an elastic band. Please make sure the items are good enough to use again as soiled or ruined items can’t be included. The charity bags will be placed in school bags so please keep an eye out for them.

Gift Aid

The PSA is currently investigating the possibility of applying for Gift Aid which can help maximise fundraising money through tax relief. Details to follow.

Trusts, grants and sponsorship

The PSA is currently investigating the possibility of applying for grants from various trusts. If you have any experience in this area and can help with application forms then please get in touch via email: stpaulspsa@gmail.com

Thank you for your fundraising support

The PSA are really grateful for your donations of time, effort and money - all of which will go towards improving the learning experience of St Paul's pupils. Thank you for your continuing support.
