School Meals

Meals are cooked to order daily and are currently free to children in Reception , Year 1 and Year 2 (Universal Free School Meals).

(If you are in receipt of financial support, please refer to the Benefit Related Free School Meal and Pupil Premium Grant letter included with your new parent pack.  Schools receive significant additional funding in respect of any pupils eligible for Benefit Related Free School Meals).

We are Sugar Smart

Our school is now one of the many registered SugarSmart schools. SugarSmart is a national initiative to educate children and young people about the effects of too much added sugar in our diets. We promote the Sugarsmart message to pupils and their families through assemblies, competitions and in lessons, as part of statutory Health Education.

We therefore ask pupils not to bring in sweets or similar as birthday treats. As an alternative, parents can bring in fresh fruit for the class or donate a book or game to the class on their child's birthday.

For further information on the SugarSmart initiaitive, please go to the website www.sugarsmartuk.org.

Nut Free School

We are a nut free school as we have several children on roll at risk of anaphylaxis. Our school kitchen uses nut-free products and nuts/nut products must not be brought into school.

Menu selections are available to view and meals should be ordered via Parentpay.  There is a main meal, choice of salads and a pudding.  A drink of water is also provided.  There is always a vegetarian meal offered.  To register for an account to order meals, please go to the Feeding Hungry Minds website, search for our school and follow the link to register yourself and your child/children.

If your child has special dietary needs, please contact the school office.

As you will already be aware, Caterlink are our new local authority appointed catering company and will be providing school meals from September.  Online ordering and payment will be available via ParentPay, with meals cooked to order.  Further information from Caterlink is attached.

It is possible for children to bring their own packed lunch, which is consumed under supervision in the dining room.  Food should be brought in a named plastic lunch box.  Children may bring a drink with their lunch (no glass, cans or fizzy drinks).

We are a nut free and Sugarsmart school.  Please ensure that packed lunches do not contain nut products, (including cereal bars, peanut butter and Nutella), sweets or whole chocolate bars.
