Parents and Carers we need your help!
Please make sure you have all of the following equipment when you come back in September. We will be checking the first week back. Please ensure it is all labelled as much as possible with your name as many people will have the same equipment.
At least 2 handwriting pen with blue ink (not biro)
Pencils, rubber and sharpener
30cm ruler
Glue sticks
Scissors
Whiteboard markers
Clear protractor
Colouring pencils
Colouring pens
Ring binder or A4 folder for transporting homework (very important)
Over the year equipment will run out. Please ask your parents to replace your things when they run out or get lost!
You will need to bring in your PE kit on a Monday and take it home on a Friday for it to be washed! Please make sure it is all labelled with your name. Our PE days will change throughout the year which means you will need to have it in school for every day, not just on our regular PE days.
In Year 6, we use Google Classroom to set all homework. Please make sure you check online every day as we post important messages and notices.
Below is a timetable of regular homework in Year 6. In addition to this, children should be reading daily for at least 15 minutes.
Take a look at what your children will be learning over the course of the year.
The poem, "Refugees," shed light on the plight of those seeking refuge and the challenges they face. It inspired our Year 6 students to explore their own emotions and thoughts about this important issue. They embarked on a poetic journey of their own, crafting their unique versions of the poem.
With immense creativity and compassion, our Year 6 students gave voice to the experiences and emotions of refugees, using their words to raise awareness and evoke empathy. Their poems were like windows into the hearts and minds of those who seek safety and a better life.
National Poetry Day 2023 was not just about celebrating the beauty of language and self-expression; it was a week of learning, empathy, and solidarity. Through their poetry, Year 6 showed the world that even young hearts can be filled with understanding and a desire for positive change. They left an enduring mark on our school community, inspiring us all to be more compassionate global neighbours.
