Lunes 4/5

Monday Work: here

Notebook Check: Assigned Friday, 3/26 for homework

Martes 4/6

Bellwork: Slide 31 here

Guess the Family: As a class, I showed this powerpoint here -- we read the descriptions together, then students guessed, then I showed the answer (which is on the slide following each description)

Notes: Sweet 16 here . We wrote the verb in Spanish, what it means in English, and how to put it in the present tense yo form.

Sweet 16 Practice: Translate these sentences here as a class

Movie Talk: Continue the movie talk we started before break. Words to remember: choque, despertar, levantar, hay, tener, ver

Tarea: Write 18 sentences using your Sweet 16 verbs. Use the present tense yo form for each. Each sentence should be at least 5 words long. Use the "Sweet 16 Practice" powerpoint from class today for reference if you need ideas!

Miércoles 4/7

Bellwork: GimKit to review Sweet 16 Verbs

Movie Talk: "Destiny" (here). Some verbs we used to describe what happened in the video are listed below.

  • Ser, Estar, Ir, Tener, Querer, Salir, Poner, Saber, Ver, Mirar, Despertar, Levantar, Vestir, Desayunar, Caer, Esconder, Morir, Choque (crash/collision)

Tarea: Finish the video from class today, starting at 3:29. Every 10 seconds, pause the video and write 1 sentence to describe what happened (not describing the scene! give me action verbs, and be specific)

Jueves 4/8

Bellwork: Slide 32 here

Review: Review Sweet 16 vocab using this powerpoint here

Video: Watch "Extr@" here. On a page in our notebooks, we wrote all 18 of your Sweet 16 verbs. While watching the video, students wrote "Sweet 16 Sightings" -- any time they heard one of the verbs in the video, they wrote down the context. Later on in the video, students also wrote words they recognized in Spanish.

Tarea: An adverb in English ends in -ly and describes how you do an action, such as Quickly or Slowly. In Spanish, to make an adverb, change the adjective to feminine and add -mente to the end, such as Rapidamente (quickly) and Lentamente (slowly).

  1. Using the slideshow here, guess how I'm telling you to do each of these actions! Acting them out is a better way to study!

  2. Complete this worksheet here to practice adverbs/past tense

  3. Study for your Sweet 16 Quiz!

Viernes 4/9

Bellwork: Slide 33 here

Quiz: Sweet 16 (if you were absent, email me to make this up)

Movie Talk: Start "Dust Buddies" here by completing slides 2 and 3 in the chat. We also created a new page in our notebooks titled "Dust Buddies" and wrote down these 6 new vocab words that will appear in this movie talk:

  • Hubo - there was/were

  • Tuvo - he/she had

  • Estuvo - he/she was (emotions, location)

  • Qué pasó - what happened

  • Hicieron - they did/made

  • Conejito - little bunny

Tarea: This movie talk will be part of your Monday Work. Start it this weekend if you are able to, so you have less work to do on Monday!
