GimKit: In-class review of Colors, Numbers, Weather, and Days vocab (Infinity Mode)
Basic Questions Vocab: Review the notes taken from yesterday's Monday work here by translating them into the ZOOM chat, and also answering each of the questions about yourself.
Who Am I?: I say my name, and you guess my age/where I'm from. Examples listed below
Me llamo Cardi B. Tengo veinte y ocho años.
Me llamo Spongebob. Tengo veinte años.
Me llamo Chance the Rapper. Soy de Chicago.
Me llamo Chris Brown. Soy de Tappahannock, VA.
Numbers: Add the number 40 - cuarenta to your Numbers Notes page. Did ZOOM whiteboard practice with translating numbers 0-49.

The Weeknd
Future
Angelina Jolie
Rafael Nadal
Miércoles 1/13 - Zombi Story
Bellwork: Slide 3 here
Homework Review: I took a screenshot of the homework you did yesterday
Numbers Practice: Using a random number generator on Google, I called on random students to type random Spanish numbers (0-49) into the chat
Basic Questions Review: Translated and answered each of the basic questions here for yourself, then focused heavily on slide 18 -- how to connect 'tengo and tiene', 'estoy and está', and 'me llamo and se llama'. One is in the "I" form, the other is in the "He/She" form
Story: Read this story here together as a class about a zombie. Also as a class, we filled in the details together about the zombie and his girlfriend. After reading, each student chose one activity from this choiceboard here to complete about the entire story. Done completely in class -- students took a picture of their work and emailed it to me before class ended.
Homework: Tell me the Name, Age, and Origin of a parent/guardian, a friend, and a famous person. Use slide 18 of this powerpoint here as a reference for how to say this info for another person.
Jueves 1/14 - Circumlocution
Bellwork: slide 4 here (used basic questions notes, how to answer about other people)
Circumlocution: Definition -- using multiple words to say something rather than using one word. Used especially when you forget the word you actually want to use.
Example: I want to say "cellphone", but instead I say "The thing you use to call or text people with"
Importance: Circumlocution is a way to help someone else figure out what you're trying to say when you can't come up with the word yourself. This will come in handy especially if there's a word you want to say that you haven't learned yet -- you can give enough clues to still be understood, without taking time to look it up in a dictionary.
Practice Questions, done in the chat:
Color, frío (azul)
Color, no azul/no verde/no rojo, el sol (amarillo)
Número, diez y diez (veinte)
Crossword: Directions and examples found in the photo below. You need to come up with 10 of your own words and 'clues' -- you can use a few of the examples below, but you need at least 5 of your own.
Homework: Using the ten clues and ten words you created in class, create a crossword puzzle using this generator here, or here if the first link doesn't work. Share your crossword with me via email, so I can print them out and share them with you all next week.
Viernes 1/15 - Pop Quiz, Sweet 16
Bellwork: slide 5 here
Pop Quiz: If you were absent, contact me to set up a time to take this listening quiz
Notes: Greetings in Spanish (pictured to the right)
Homework: Notebook Check 2 due Tuesday by midnight
