Semana 14.

Lunes 4/12

Notebook Check: here

Monday Work:

  1. Notes: When telling someone's age, you say "Tengo ____ años" (for your own age) OR "Tiene _____ años" (for his/her/their age). To ask about someone's age, you ask "¿Cuántos años tienes?" (how many years do you have?). It is important to distinguish that they refer to age as a number (I have so many years, or asking someone how many years they have) -- in English, we refer to age as part of their being (I am so many years, or asking someone how old they are). This difference is super important to remember!!

  • Practice: Ask 10 different people how old they are in Spanish (you might have to then translate the question for them, if they don't know what it means!). Then, write down their age like this: Julia tiene cuarenta años. Your bellwork tomorrow will require you to swap this assignment with someone else to translate.

  1. Notes: When asking about someone's birthday, you ask "¿Cuándo es tu cumpleaños?" (When is your birthday?). To answer this question, say "Mi cumpleaños es el ______ (number) de _______ (month)" (My birthday is the ______ of _______).

  • Practice: Ask those same 10 people when their birthday is. When writing their answers, follow this template: "El cumpleaños de Jenna es el catorce de febrero." (Jenna's birthday is February 14th). We will also use this during class tomorrow.

***EMAIL ME BOTH OF THESE ASSIGNMENTS BEFORE MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO BE COUNTED AS PRESENT TODAY!!!***
