The Chinese space station is not as successful as other space organizations. The Agency did not make its first landing on the moon until December, 2014. This is a prime example of why the Chinese space program lacks in areas that other organizations don’t. It was the first soft landing of any spacecrafts in 37 years. China did however do one thing right, this was something another organization hasn’t done in almost 40 years. The Chinese Space Agency is good in some areas and lacks in others.
China was their first space station and now it turns out it may have not been so great. The Tiangong-1 is the first space station that China put up in space and it may crash into earth soon. China thought they had a success but it could end in a colossal failure. China actually lost control of their space station 2 years ago. This shows that they are not qualified to be doing these levels of experiments. China should not be aloud to do these things without permission from a hierarchy. During the 1950’s, the Chinese began a ballistic missile program because of threats from the United States and Russia, which would eventually lead into their space exploration. During his first visit to China after becoming the Soviet leader, Nikita Khrushchev was asked by the Chinese leader whether the Soviet Union could provide assistance to help the country create a nuclear weapon program. Because the Chinese were a little further behind in building nuclear weapons, they had to reach out to the Soviet Union to supply them with the weapons necessary. Khrushchev politely declined the request on the ground that the PRC did not have the industrial capabilities and financial strength to support such a programme, and that the Soviet Union could provide the PRC with a reliable nuclear umbrella. The Soviet Union could not support the Chinese with weapons as they were not financially stable enough, but they ended up giving them some nuclear energy to help get them started. The Chinese was very far behind to create nuclear missiles which was bad because they would have no way to protect themselves.
Being the third major country to send humans into space, they were really far behind in the space race. On October 15, 2003 Taikonaut Yang Liwei enters orbit aboard a Shenzhou 5 spacecraft, deployed by a Long March 2F rocket. The Americans first time sending a human up to space was in 1961, so the Chinese were very far behind. It's true that by comparison to China, the U.S. space program appears to have stagnated. Americans haven't left low-Earth orbit since the last moon landing in 1972. The United States has not been focusing on space travel recently, but the Chinese are pouring tons of money and putting a lot of time into it. Even though they are putting a lot of time and money into it, they aren’t getting any further then they already are.
