Here you can manage charging stations.
You can filter by the following options:
Name.
Enter the name of the charging station.
Address
Enter the address of the charging station.
Access Type
Enter the access type (Public, Limited, or Private/Maintenance).
Price per kWh
Enter the price per kWh.
Price per Hour
Enter the price per hour.
Status
Enter the status of the station you’re looking for (Available, Connected, or Occupied).
⚠️Important: Does the status not match that of the wallbox?
In the event of interruptions on the wallbox (especially during active charging sessions), it may happen that the status in eCarUp is red (active charging session), but the wallbox is actually ready again. This means that we have not yet received a command from the station to end the charging process (Stop Transaction).
Restarting or resetting the system may resolve the issue.
Charging Power
Is the current charging power not displayed during the charging process? Check out the following article in the Maintenance section.
Click the three dots on the right to edit the charging station. This should open a menu where you can select from the following options:
Edit
Edit Connection
Set Location
Define Users
Define Times
Activate
Under “Edit,” you can do the following:
Change the station's name and description
(This information is visible on the map in the app)
Delete the station
(To delete it, you must enter the full station name. You can find this under “Information” in the same window.)
Set the station to “unlicensed”
The station will be set to inactive, so it no longer requires a license but will also no longer work with eCarUp.
Upload images of the stations
While this isn’t required, it’s recommended because drivers will see these images in the app, making it easier for them to find and identify the charging station.
⚠️Important: Images with a size of approximately 605 x 806 pixels are suitable.
Information:
(This information is visible in the app)
Connection Name
Description (optional)
Connection Type (Plug Type) [recommended]
Max. Power (kW) [recommended]
Although these settings are not strictly necessary, they are recommended because they allow the driver to see the charging station’s power output. Additionally (if Hubject is enabled), this information is also transmitted correctly.
Prices:
Preise für Energie und Zeit setzen
Set prices for energy and time. The price can also be changed later. The price per kWh refers to electricity, and the price per hour is a “parking rate.”
⚠️Important: With “Limited” access, the field is grayed out, since in this case the price is set via “User Definition” or “Advanced User Management.”
Access:
Here you can manage access to the station.
You can choose between the following access options:
Public, Private/Maintenance, and Limited.
Public:
The charging station is visible and accessible to everyone. Anyone can charge their vehicle here.
Limited:
Only selected users are authorized to use the charging station. Other users cannot see it and cannot use it.
Private / Maintenance:
The charging station is visible and accessible only to the user who installed it. No other user can use it, even if it has been shared.
Define Users / Times:
See below
Automatic Charging:
This option is used when the charging station is in private use. This disables authorization, meaning you can simply plug in and charge.
Hubject (Roaming Network):
The charging station is added to the Hubject roaming network and is therefore visible and available to drivers who do not use eCarUp (e.g., Move, Swisscharge, etc.).
This option is only available if the charging station is open to the public 24/7.
Once this feature is enabled, a pricing plan must be selected. You can choose between LowCHF, MediumCHF, HighCHF, and ExtraCHF.
We guarantee that the station owner receives 90% of the specified pricing plan—for example, for 0.50 CHF, that’s 0.45 CHF. We cannot say what the driver will ultimately pay, as third-party providers set these prices.
⚠️Important: The charging station will not appear immediately on other platforms after Hubject is activated. This can sometimes take up to 1 week. Unfortunately, this is beyond our control, as the other providers are responsible for listing it.
This is where you set the station's location (if required). If you don't want other drivers to see the station on the map, you can leave the location field blank. If the station is restricted, the location is also restricted, meaning it will only be displayed to selected users.
When entering an address, make sure it actually exists.
Once you've entered it, click “Search Address” so our system can automatically format the address correctly.
If there are multiple charging stations at a single location, we recommend spacing them out (as shown in the example image) so they aren’t all clustered together. This is better for the driver, as it makes the map easier to read.
Once the location has been set, it will appear immediately on the eCarUp map.
In this menu item, you can add users one at a time.
Add users one at a time by clicking “Add User” in the upper-right corner. You can then enter the user's email address and select a plan.
Be sure to enter the email address correctly, as you won't receive an error message if you enter an account that doesn't exist.
If you want the charging station to be publicly available for a limited time or to have restricted access, you can configure this under “Define Times.” There, you can choose between “Public,” “Private / Maintenance,” and “Restricted.”
Public: Anyone has access to the charging station and can charge their vehicle.
Private / Maintenance: Only the station operator has access to the charging station; no other users have access, not even those who have been approved.
Limited: Only approved users have access to the charging station.
If you’re charging while the settings are being changed, the charging process won’t stop automatically. The vehicle will remain plugged in until the driver unplugs the car and ends the charging session.
Under the “Activate” option, you can activate the charging station or the charging session and thereby make it available. In this setting, you can choose whether to enable it for 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours, or 12 hours. However, you cannot set a rate; it is always 0 CHF.
You can use this, for example, if you have a limited-access station that doesn’t have a “guest user” account and you want to grant a guest access to a charge.
