Founded in 2005 as a collaboration between UC Berkeley and Intel, Intel Global Challenge is a business plan competition that encourages emerging entrepreneurs and rewards ideas that have potential to become a new business or even a new industry. The program showcases business opportunities with the greatest potential for a positive impact on society through the commercialization of new and truly innovative technologies.
At the competition, student teams from around the world vie for $100,000 in prize money and receive direct feedback from leaders in the Silicon Valley entrepreneur community. Many of the winners of past competitions have gone on to start successful businesses - making an impact on their industry and often on their communities as well.
The Intel Global Challenge allows emerging entrepreneurs to submit and receive feedback on the viability of their plan from successful entrepreneurs and those that fund them. Winning business plans from the Intel Challenge and other local entrepreneurship programs that Intel sponsors receive focused mentorship, over USD 150,000 in prize money and the opportunity to participate in the global competition – Intel Global Challenge. At the global competition, teams from around the world vie for an additional USD 100,000 in prize money and receive direct feedback from leaders in the Silicon Valley entrepreneur community.
To enter the competition, teams can apply through a regional online competition, a partner competitions or with the sponsorship of a partner institution.

HOW TO ENTER
The 2011 Intel Global Challenge is now accepting new entries. To enter the Challenge, teams can either apply through one of the regional Intel Challenges or partner competitions, or by nomination and sponsorship from one of our partner institutions.

The Intel® Challenge Europe is a regional business plan for university students. In collaboration with prestigious education institutions and entrepreneurship organizations across Europe, Intel is excited to launch the sixth year of Intel® Challenge Europe in March 2011. The goal of Intel® Challenge Europe is to contribute to the entrepreneurial movement by helping to generate interest and development of technological projects with the great business potential. By advancing technology entrepreneurship, Intel® Challenge Europe can support projects that create value-added production chains and employment.
Start-Up@Singapore is a national business plan competition and enterprise launcher jointly organized by the National University of Singapore (NUS) Entrepreneurship Centre (NEC), NUS Business School Alumni Association (NUSBSA) and NUS Entrepreneurship Society (NES). The goal of the competition is to encourage participating teams to implement their business plans and make the leap to form start-up companies.
BIT brings together students and researchers from leading Russian technical universities, scientific-research institutes, and business schools to combine their efforts in turning innovation technologies into successful businesses. The goal of BIT is to help create new ventures and foster entrepreneurial culture in the Russian high-tech sector.
The Arab Technology Business Plan Competition is a regional Technology investment competition organized by the Arab Science and Technology Foundation (ASTF) in collaboration with Intel Corporation. The competition provides the Arabian Entrepreneurs with tools to turn their Technological innovation into business opportunities. The Competition falls in line with ASTF efforts to bridge the gap between those who generate technology, and those who generate businesses and investments. The ultimate aim of this merger is to create strong, innovative, technology-based businesses able to compete worldwide.
“Intel Cup” China College Student Technology Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition is a national business plan competition in China. It’s organized by Intel China in a partnership with China Youth League, Chinese Ministry of Education, and Tsinghua University. The enrollment of the completion is based on invitation. The invitation only goes to leading universities. The teams recommended by each university should have good performance in the " Challenge Cup" China University Business Plan Competition (CCCUBP). CCCUBP is one of the most influential competitions in China colleges involving thousands of college students from more than 200 China universities. Experts from investors (including Intel Capital), corporate management executives and B-School professors formed the judge panel. About 600 business plans were submitted to the semi-final, and 100 b-plans were selected for the final. In 2010, 24 teams recommended from 19 universities joined the “Intel Cup” competition. In addition to the competition, a summer camp was also organized to provide the participants systematic trainings on technology entrepreneurship.
Intel Latin America Challenge is a competition of technological entrepreneurship projects focused on the university sector. The call was made in collaboration with prestigious institutions in the education sector and organziations associated with entrepreneurship, as Emprear of Argentina, the Technical Unviersity Federico Santa Maria, Chile, the Instituto Tecnologico de Coasta Rica, Colombia EAFIT University and Tecnologico de Meonterrey, Mexico.
Desafio Brasil 2010 (Brazil Challenge 2010)
NOVATech Business Plan Competition, Central and Eastern Europe: Bulgarian Institute for Management and Technology (BIMT) in cooperation with Intel Higher Education Group runs a business plan competition in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) as part of IBTEC. The event involves teams from several countries in the CEE region: Bulgaria, Israel, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Turkey, Czech Republic, Greece and Serbia. The fourth annual event takes place in October 2009 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
