For over 20 years, the McMaster Engineering & Science Olympics and Open House has provided high school students the opportunity to participate in an exciting engineering and science experience. This includes preparation and learning at your school, the challenge of competition with teams from other schools and the feel of a university campus on a regular day. School teams compete in events throughout the day - like a track meet. Prizes will go to the top teams in each event. More than $20,000 in McMaster entrance awards are available to be won!
The open house activities allow students to meet and mingle with our acclaimed professors and outstanding engineering and science undergraduate students. Special presentations, discussions, displays and demonstrations throughout the day provide insights into exciting career paths and encourage students to pursue an education leading to the profession of engineering.
The Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Science at McMaster University, known best for “Innovation in Education, Excellence in Research and Quality of Student Life”, have a long tradition of sponsoring and hosting outreach events and activities for high school students (i.e. regional science fairs, open houses, engineering design competitions, A Day in the Life of a Mac Eng Student, Engineering Experience Weekend). We introduce students to engineering and science, provide exciting opportunities to learn and we grant many thousands of dollars in entrance awards. It is no secret that McMaster attracts many top students and we meet many of them through these outreach activities!
