July 3rd, Fireworks Day in Bella Vista! Fireworks on the Dam and at Kingswood golf course!!! The almost midday match started off Hot and believe me I was dripping the entire time. Not sure if it was the Temperature or the Match!
Elaine started with a birdie on the first hole for the win and Biddy came fighting right back taking #2. I came back on #3 and then we all held on tight trying to keep up with Brenda (had some pops to help against her play). Biddy won on #9 putting us all square for the front. So off to the back we went, starting over, square... tight match. Brenda got us on #10, but I got a lucky break on #11 turning a bad drive into a green in regulation and paring the hole (with a pop against Brenda’s par) ... square again. Play was tied the next couple holes. Then Elaine’s fine play during the round (her game was awesome all day by the way) came though with a birdie on #14, taking the hole. Brenda’s fine play did not go unnoticed.... we all enjoyed watching (well trying to watch) her drives fly off in the distance. I got #15, giving Elaine and I a couple of holes, but there was no way you could think up 2 with 3 to play was enough against these two Ladies. We held on through #16. Going to #17, I was very very hot... dripping hot. Elaine said hang in there, just 2 more holes, you can do it. Well, the golf gods must have heard her and gave some relief. We tied #17 and it was all finished!
Such a fine display of golf by 4 women ... no not just women, 4 friends! It was a very hard fought match, so much fun playing with all 3 of these ladies! I would do it all again in a heartbeat ... on a cooler day!!!
