KJ Tops Placial

On 7-17-13, KJ (Johnson) played Gayle Placial at the BVCC early in the morning. The dew was heavy and the humidity was high as were the hopes of both the players. KJ took the early lead in the match by winning the first 4 holes. Gayle came back to win the sixth hole but KJ then won hole #8. KJ was up at the turn five holes to one. She then won holes 10 and 12 and Gayle was only able to win hole 13. They tied hole 14 which allowed KJ to win 6 and 4. It was a tough match and afterwards, Gayle said "I knew I was in trouble when I saw Kathy chip and putt. I didn't know she had that good a short game." The two still walked off the course as friends in a match that was well played by both.
