An absolute beautiful June morning, finally perfect golf weather, perfect match play morning! We start off on hole #10 at Kingswood, the sisters (Amy Parker and Laurie Pike) both hit the back of the green near a blue flag. Elaine and I are both, well, not on the green. The orange power of the sisters took the first hole! Elaine and Lisa looked at each other and then looked at the matching dressed sisters and said oh my they are going to be tough ... and they were! Very hard fought match by both teams!
Through the back nine, Elaine took 3 holes and Lisa managed to get 1 and somehow held them. Saying the numbers, really does not describe the play on those holes at all! But Elaine and Lisa, thought okay we are up 3, feeling pretty good at the turn ... you should never feel good playing sisters dressed in orange and khaki, orange socks, orange tees and using orange balls!
Front nine, Laurie jumped on the #1 hole and now the score is cut by 1. By the time we got to #8, Laurie and Amy had each won a hole and held us. Just like that match was all square with 2 holes to play. Last 2 holes were grinding holes. We tied #8 and down to the final hole. Sure seemed like one long hole. Elaine and Lisa are thankful to have come out on top. One hole, really, all that hard play and down to one hole and we are done! A grinding, tough fought match between four fun friends! It was a great day for golf! Loved the game and the ladies playing it!
