Background
Chubby Checker performed "The Twist" at the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 1986. The final jam featured John Fogerty (guitar), Keith Richards (guitar), Stevie Ray Vaughan (guitar), Jerry Lee Lewis (piano), Sean Lennon (percussion), Julian Lennon (percussion), David Sanborn (sax) and others. Fogerty played rhythm.
John Fogerty regards "The Twist” as a great record. He was thrilled to meet Chubby onstage at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony. Chubby made it a point to say to him [about his Creedence work], “Those are your songs… you should play those songs!” (John Fogerty, Fortunate Son, 2015).
