The concert was on Monday September 13, 1971 in Frankfurt, Germany. I still have the Ticket (13 DM, appr. 9 US$). CCR peformed two shows at that night and the first one started at 18.30 pm. That s the one I joined. It was my very first concert at all and I was 15 years old. Can you imagine what that means. The first concert in your life?? I will never forget that night, even that I did not thought at that time that I will be a CCR fan for the rest of my life, and for sure never thought that I will write 25 years later a short story to all of you in the internet.
The concert started with Born on the Bayou and contained all their great hits incl. Sweet Hicht-Hiker which was the Hit-single at that time. Also Stu performed Door to Door. Like I think every CCR concert it all ended with Keep on Chooglin. It was a 45 minutes set, great performed and I will never forget it. Unfortunatley I have no pictures from that concert.
As I said in my last mail at the Bayou Moon I saw Doug and Stu twice this year and I also will not forget those shows. This time I have pictures (thanks Peter Koers) and I also took my oldest son (14) with me. It was his birthday. But the dream to see the Trio again is still there and maybe a wonder will happen to all of us.
Do you want to submit a story of your own memories of the Creedence Clearwater Revival (concerts, recordings, anything) onto this section? It's easy. Preferably, write your Creedence story onto your own web page, let me know the address of it, and I'll put a link to there. If you don't have the web facilities, you may submit your story to me via email and I'll be happy to put it onto my page. Thanks!
