John Fogerty in Boulder 8/15/97

"The audience stomped on the wooden floor of the joint. The noise was as loud as the concert. They just had to encore perform."

Review by Randy Dalton

Could it be possible to see John two nights in a row? I did. In Boulder John Played for an extremely small venue. The Boulder FOX holds 500 people. I think a few more were jammed in there.

This was a Gavin Radio Promotion Summit event. Radio Jocks from all over the region were given free tickets. I had no idea what to expect. Would Fogerty simply play his new stuff? Would it be a short performance?

The answer to the above was no. The same magic inflitrated the FOX as it had the Paramount the night before. These Disc Jocks joined with my wife and I into spontaneous dance and hand slapping, toe tapping good fun.

John and his group responded and interacted with the crowd.

3 ENCORES were demanded by the attendees. John appeared to be having a great time. The audience stomped on the wooden floor of the joint. The noise was as loud as the concert. They just had to encore perform.

"Sheriff says it's late. Closing time has got to come, But Dooley he don't want to quit. Aint nobody feel like going home." (Bluboy, JCF) Nobody wanted it to end including a weary John.

On the last encore, John begins to tune a guitar. It's taking a little longer than usual. He says, "These are union guitars. This one quit two songs ago." It takes a little longer, he says, "I bet you think I'm tuning my guitar? I'm really looking at a naked picture of my wife." The humor races through the crowd.

SAID HELLO, to him again. Had a hard time sleeping after the show.

GO SEE FOR YOURSELF!!
