I Found a Love

Background

"I Found a Love" is the B-side of "Sail Away", the only single released from John Fogerty in 1987. It didn't chart. Neither was it included in the Eye of the Zombie album launched previous year.

John Fogerty picked the raw soul/rhythm and blues number up from the catalogue of Wilson Pickett who had cut it originally in 1962 and for the second time at the Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, in 1966.

Collector's notes

"I Found a Love" was only released as the B-side of "Sail Away" which came out only in Germany (Bellaphon 100-07-430) in 1987. "I Found a Love" doesn't appear on any John Fogerty album. Therefore, the song is regarded as one of the most collectable items of the catalogue of John Fogerty but not particularly rare in Europe.

Live versions

John Fogerty played "I Found a Love" live on Rockin' All Over the World Tour in autumn 1986 in North America. He added the song on the second leg of the tour in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on August 29th. The number disappeared from the programming of John Fogerty for good after the tour was over.
