Psi-Zeta VI

Psi-Zeta VI is a Class M desert world, roughly 80% the mass of Vulcan. It is the former location of a Vulcan colony, and the birthplace of T'Val. Few bodies of water exist on Psi-Zeta's hard, rocky surface. However, there is an abundant reservoir of fresh water beneath the planet, making colonization possible only for societies with rather advanced civil engineering technology. The atmosphere is stable, and there are relatively few sand storms. The geology is stable, with few earthquakes or other phenomena of the sort. There is no known indigenous life. A Vulcan colony was established here some time around 2236.In 2251, the colony was suddenly abandoned. The reasons for this decision are unspecified. T'Val remembers her father telling her, “There is intelligent sentient indigenous life on this planet. We have no right to settle here.” This is the only answer she received. Subsequently, the Vulcan High Command enacted something of an unspoken quarantine of the planet "pending further data." To some, this would appear rather. . .paradoxical.In 2271, Psi-Zeta VI was sought out by the vagabond mystic known as Sybok. It was his belief the planet itself was alive, and old enough to know secrets to the origin of the universe. The colony who once settled Psi-Zeta VI consisted of 23 individuals from various cultural, scientific and specialized areas: 4 of whom were children. It was hoped once that this core group would lay down the groundwork for a larger; full fledged settlement. But this was not to be.

Former Colony Members of Note:

The colony who once settled Psi-Zeta VI consisted of 23 individuals from various cultural, scientific and specialized areas: 4 of whom were children. It was hoped once that this core group would lay down the groundwork for a larger; full fledged settlement. But this was not to be.

S'Calan- The oldest member of the colony and a retired Vulcan priest. He was considered to be very wise, and served the colony as the equivalent of a chaplain. He kept ancient traditions and provided a wealth of sage advice. T'Val's father Valin revered him as a trusted friend and mentor. While not technically the colony's leader, it was only logical for the High Command's official attache, Tavak, to defer to S'Calan's experience and wisdom.

The day before the colony abandoned the settlement, S'Calan died of natural causes, but this was expected. The funeral was pre-arranged, and Valin was personally appointed to bear the Katra of the deceased.

T'Sol-Leader of the planetary science team. Mother of T'Val.

Soran and T'Ryael- Married couple who led the engineering projects of the colony.

Herek - Team Leader. A jack of all trades; leading communications and life support. Considered a real logistical mastermind.

Valin - Chief of Security. Supervised two other young Vulcans (Volek and Satam). Considering how this colony did not expect to see any personal danger from the planet, this team was a technicality. Yet, in logical fashion, Valin was to give these two recruits personal training and mentoring, so the time on the planet was not wasted.

The day before the colony abandoned the settlement, everything appeared normal. T'Val found it puzzling why everyone left on the advice of Valin alone. At home, there was intense disagreement about the move. This is probably the closest Valin and T'Sol ever came to a "fight." Valin just wouldn't answer whether they were all merely moving or. . .evacuating. All that research simply abandoned. All that potential data lost.

T'Val - At that time only a young child and one of 4 other juvenile dependents.
