Lawrence Hama

Lawrence "Larry" Hama was Captain of the USS Ganymede until 2268.

His ship was hijacked by Zarbozan pirates, who initially took control of the ship from engineering and cut off life support to the bridge; killing Captain Hama and the rest of his senior staff.

Some time afterward, Captain Hama's coffin was mysteriously found adrift in space. On examination of the contents, Hama's body was found laid to rest in full dress uniform with ceremonial honors.

Captain Hama was remembered by his friends and colleagues as an accomplished musician, historian, and philosopher (formerly a Logic 201 instructor at Starfleet Academy).

Some years prior, Captain Spiak once stated to T'Val that Hama was one of his few friends and counted himself fortunate, ". . .since friendship with humans is such a rare statistical probability."
