Hologram Emitter (Favosian)

    • The Favosian Hologram Emitter is a mobile AI drone commonly found on Favos IV. Its purpose is to create realistic-appearing interactive 3D images. When inactive, they appear as softball-sized orbs with a main central projector and various sensors devices attached to its surface (depending on the type and model). Though not nearly as advanced as 24th century holograms, these devices have a wide range of uses, from providing simple lighting, to acting as tour guides for public venues. The Favosian Hologram Emitter has the following features:Antigrav propulsion. This is built into the main body. Speed and range may vary.

    • Main projector. Emits a variety of non-solid light images for whatever is necessary to each drone's given function. Range is limited to man-sized objects. Many functions and personalities are available.

    • AI interface. A large assortment of personalities are available; usually transmitted from a central computer station. All of which are meant for passive and non-threatening functions. Each drone's memory is capable of only one continuous complex function per assigned command (Thus, if an Emitter is programmed as a tour guide, it will behave as such until programmed otherwise. Some security emitters can disguise themselves as inert objects if necessary).

    • Networking service and upgrade interface. This enables Emitters to service others of its kind that are lost, stolen, or damaged. They often appear to be "talking" with one another during the process.

In 2268, the crew of the USS Bretagne encountered several of these units on Favos IV; finding them very helpful.
