Edosian Ping Pong

Edosian Ping Pong is a tabletop game that was popular on starships in the 22nd and 23rd centuries. The game is usually played by two individuals, teams of two, or a 1-on-2 "Edosian handicap." It is possible for a team to have substitute players to rotate in and out of play.

The game is a variant of traditional Ping Pong, but substitutes an X-shaped table and two balls in play at the same time. Thus, the playing area is wider; with a pronounced delta-shaped gap in the center of both sides. A single centralized net is still utilized, but players have the option of as many paddles as they are capable of manipulating at one time. Scorekeepers and referees are usually required.

Like Chinese Checkers, Edosian Ping Pong did not originate on the planet Edos, as its name would suggest. The game is believed to have originated during the time of the 22nd century Daedalus Class vessels, when crews tried to even up the then total-dominance of traditional Ping-Pong by Edosian crewmembers, who only found the variation more entertaining. As a result of this, the game was eventually coined "Edosian Ping-Pong."

Dr. Garri Warrix is known to be quite fond of the game.
