First created by Constantino Ribalaigua Vert in Cuba, this variation on the classic Daiquiri is often referred to as the Hemingway Daiquiri. 320 Main’s adaptation adds a spent lime shell to the shaker, which “immediately opens up the richness of the rum and balances the assertive flavors of the maraschino,” says bartender Matt Robold.
2 oz. white rum
1 oz. fresh lime juice
3/4 oz. simple syrup (1:1)
1 tsp. maraschino liqueur
1 tsp. fresh grapefruit juice
1 spent lime shell
Ice cubes
Crushed ice
Tools: shaker, strainer
Glass: rocks
Garnish: lime wedge and a cherry
Combine all ingredients and shake with ice cubes. Strain into a crushed ice-filled glass and garnish.
