Ingredients
Crust
1 c. butter
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 t. vanilla
2 c. flour
Filling
8 oz. cream cheese
1/4 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla
1 egg
3 apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1/3 c. sugar
1 t. cinnamon
lemon juice
1/2 c. sliced almonds
Directions
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Crust
Cream butter and sugar
Add vanilla and flour. Blend well.
Press mixture into the bottom and 3/4 of the way up the sides of a greased 8- or 9-inch pie pan
Filling
Beat cream cheese, 1/4 c. sugar, vanilla and egg. Pour over crust
Combine sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and a little lemon juice. Mix well.
Pour apple mixture over top of cheese mixture and sprinkle with sliced almonds.
Push crust down on sides to make it even with apples.
Bake for 10 minutes at 450 degrees, then reduce temperature to 400 degrees, cover with foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes.
