I get the day off from work, and from formal wear, as we celebrate the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Gen. Robert E. Lee (Alabama and Arkansas, anyway).

My Christian Dior tie (cravate!) sparkles with flowers.

Wednesday, January 18

I see dense, mis-colored jungle brush on my tie today. And you would too, if it were green.

Thursday, January 19

In mourning for tomorrow's swearing in, I wear my all-black neck tie (a second Christian Dior cravate this week!) on black shirt.
